Coffee is one of my addictions (as far as addictions go, this is probably the least harmful one). My favorite coffee shop, and my bean supplier, is the Chicago-based coffee roaster Intelligentsia. I have been ordering coffee for myself and my colleagues since I moved out of Chicago in 2001.
Through the years, I noticed that growing coffee beans is a challenging task. The growth of the high-quality Arabica beans in Colombia, for example, has been severely damaged due to the climate change in recent years. Here is an article from The New York Times about the setbacks suffered in the coffee bean production. I also enjoy reading the various perspectives on the Forum regarding the prices of coffee beans in the commodity markets. This is also my next research project!
