Coffee

Coffee is one of my addictions (as far as addictions go, this is probably the least harmful one).

Through the years, I noticed that growing coffee beans is a challenging task. The growth of the high-quality Arabica beans in Colombia, for example, has been severely damaged due to the climate change in recent years. Here is an article from The New York Times about the setbacks suffered in the coffee bean production. I also enjoy reading the various perspectives on the Forum regarding the prices of coffee beans in the commodity markets. This is also my next research project!

My former doctoral student and now a colleague, Dr. Shahryar Gheibi conducts research on the sourcing and pricing decisions of premium coffee. You can find this study among the list of my working papers.
